ORLANDO — A high-fiber, plant-based dietary intervention and nutritional counseling improved several risk factors for multiple myeloma, a study presented at the annual NUTRITION meeting showed.
“Our study shows the power of nutrition in the preventive setting and showcases the potential to give patients a sense of agency in their diagnosis,” Urvi A. Shah, MD, a hematologic oncologist and faculty member in the myeloma division at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and study co-author, said in a press release.
